What is the correct photo size for NSDL & UTI PAN Card? +
The standard dimension for both NSDL and UTIITSL is 3.5 cm x 2.5 cm, which converts to approximately 213 x 213 pixels. The file size must be less than 30 KB and the format must be JPEG/JPG.
Why is my signature getting rejected during upload? +
Signatures are often rejected because of Low DPI. Even if the dimensions are correct (4.5 x 2.0 cm), the image density must be set to 600 DPI. Our tool automatically fixes this DPI issue.
Can I resize images on my mobile phone? +
Yes! This tool works perfectly on mobile devices (Android & iPhone). You can upload a photo from your gallery, and we will process it instantly without installing any apps.
Is my data safe on this website? +
100% Safe. We use client-side processing. This means your personal photos and signatures are resized directly in your browser and are never uploaded to our servers.
What is the difference between NSDL and UTIITSL? +
Both are government-authorized service providers for issuing PAN cards in India. The rules for photo/signature size are generally the same for both portals, but their upload interfaces differ slightly.
How do I reduce the file size below 30KB? +
You don't need to do it manually. When you upload your image to our tool, our algorithm automatically compresses the quality slightly to ensure the final file is under the 30KB limit while keeping the face clear.
Which background should I use for the photo? +
Always use a plain white background for your passport-size photo. Do not wear sunglasses or caps. Ensure your face covers about 70-80% of the image frame.
Should the signature be in Black or Blue ink? +
It is highly recommended to sign with a Black Ink Pen on plain white paper for the best clarity during scanning. Blue ink is allowed but sometimes fades during the 600 DPI conversion.
Can I use this tool for a Minor's PAN card? +
Yes. For minors, the photo requirements are the same. However, please note that for a minor's card, the parent/guardian's signature is usually required instead of the child's.
What formats are accepted? (PNG vs JPG) +
The government portals strictly accept JPEG or JPG formats. If you upload a PNG or PDF, it will be rejected. Our tool automatically converts any uploaded image to the correct JPEG format.
